FIELDS TO CHOOSE AFTER 10+2

Engineering/ Architecture / Mathematics / Statistics Entrance Exams 

  • JEE Main 2015
    JEE Main 2015 is National level entrance exam after 12th for admission to Engineering/ Architecture programs at NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutions like IIST, and is also the eligibility test for JEE Advanced. There are almost 39,000 seats in NIT's. The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Odisha have joined JEE (Main) system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE (Main) - 2015 application form online.

    CBSE conducts the test, the notification is out in the month of November- Dec every year and the exam is held in the month of April. The notification for JEE Main 2015 is out and the last date to apply was 18th Dec 2014. Only online applications can be made. The test was held offline mode on 4th April and in online mode on 10th and 11th April. In 2015 close to 13 lakh students appeared for JEE Mains. The cutoff was 105 marks in JEE mains for JEE Advanced. 
    Mode of examination:
    Paper 1 For B Tech / BE (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) is conducted in online as well as offline mode. 
    Paper 2 For B Arch (Mathematics-1, Aptitude Test II and Drawing Test –III is conducted only in offline mode.
    For B.Arch and B Planning the students have to appear in Paper 2 and for all other UG courses students have to appear in Paper 1. Students can opt for papers in English as well as Hindi. One can attempt JEE 2 times only.

    Eligibility for JEE Main 2015 :
    For BE/B.Tech: Subjects in Qualifying Examination: Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from(Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) along with 50% marks in total including all subjects
    For B.Arch and B Planning: Mathematics subject along with 50% Marks in total including all subjects. 
  • JEE Advanced 2015
    JEE (Advanced) - 2015 is conducted by Joint Admission Board of IITs for admission to all undergraduate Engineering and other science programs offered at 16 IITs in India and ISM Dhanbad. (As per the eligibility criteria and clearing JEE Main).

    JEE Advanced is held after the JEE mains as Top 1.5 lakh students of JEE Main are eligible for the test. In 2015 the exam will be held on May 24, 2015 
    Mode of JEE Advanced:
    There are two papers of 3 hours each and both papers are compulsory. The question papers will be bilingual (in English and Hindi). Each of the question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
    Candidates who wish to write JEE (Advanced) must write Paper - I of JEE (Main). Only top 1,50,000 candidates (including all categories)who qualify in Paper - I of JEE (Main) will be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced). Also to be eligible the candidate should either be in the TOP 20 % in the board or should have scores more than 75% marks. A total of 2 consecutive attempts can be availed by candidates. 
    Candidates desirous of joining the B Arch are required to qualify in an Aptitude Test, the test is conducted at all Zonal IITs in the month of June. Seat allotment is done based on category wise all India Rank in JEE advanced. The test is conducted in English only and students have to register for this separately.
  • NATA 2015 
    National Aptitude Test in Architecture NATA 2015 is conducted by Council of Architecture for admission to B Arch in India in Government and Government aided and un-aided colleges of Architecture.

    NATA 2015 can be given at any designated test centers, at least 6 working days prior to the cut off date for applying in the preferred colleges.NATA 2015 applications forms are available in the month of March. For NATA 2015 the registrations are now open and interested students can take the test beginning 1st April. The last date to appear for NATA 2015 is 21st Aug 2015. Interested students can take the exam on any working day from April to Aug at the designated centres .

    The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2015 measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects -  Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner.  Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings.  Sense of perspective drawing  Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form.  Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms.  Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition.  Understanding of scale and proportions.  Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences. AESTHETIC SENSITIVITY TEST This is computer based test where candidate has to answer 40 multiple choice questions. The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination and observation, creativity and communication along with architectural awareness and comprises of -  Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings.  Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects.  Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities.  Analytical reasoning.  Mental Ability.  Imaginative comprehension and expression.  Architectural awareness. 

    Eligibility:Candidates having 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with mathematics as one of the subject, only are eligible for admission to B.Arch. Course.
    As per Council of Architecture regulations, a candidate applying to any school / college of architecture in India should have achieved 40% score in NATA, i.e. at least 80/200, for consideration of admission into first year B.Arch.
  • BITSAT 2015 
    BITSAT 2015 is computer based online entrance exam after 12th for admission to integrated First degree programmes of BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad, for admission to BITS Pilani Engineering, Pharmacy, Information Systems and other courses.

    Eligibility:
    Candidates should have passed the 12th class examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Further the candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 12th examination, at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and should have adequate proficiency in English.Only students who are appearing in 12th class examination in 2015 or have passed in 2014 are eligible for BITSAT 2015
    First rank students of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2015 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2015 score as per the eligibility criteria.
    BITSAT-2015 will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). The test consists of four parts:
    Part I : Physics
    Part II : Chemistry
    Part III : (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning
    Part IV : Mathematics
    All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1 mark).

    Notification for BITSAT 2015 is out and online tests will be from 14th May to 29th May 2015. 
    The last date to apply was 20th February 2015. 
  • VITEEE 2015 
    VIT University conducts VITEEE for admission to its various B Tech Degree programs. VITEEE 2015 was conducted online from 8th April to 19th April. Last date to submit applications is 27th Feb 2015. 

    Eligibility for VITEEE:
    A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB).
    Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes.
    Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) candidates are eligible only for B.Tech. Bioinformatics, Biotechnology & Biomedical Engineering programmes.
    Online applications are now available. 
  • IIST Admission 2015 
    Indian Institute of Space Technology IIST, Thiruvanathapuram considers JEE Mains and Advanced scores for admission to its various B Tech Degree programs in Aerospace Engineering and Avionics and 5 year dual degree program B Tech and M S / M Tech. The registrations open in the month of June . The government of India bears the cost of course and other costs during the course. 

    Eligibility for IIST
    A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics .
    Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) candidates are eligible for all the programmes. 
  • IISc Bangalore Admission 2015 
    Indian Institute of Science Bangalore considers KVPY, JEE Mains and JEE Advanced and AIPMT scores for admission to its 4 year Bachelor in science program. There are 100 seats in the B S Program. The registrations open in the month of Feb. For admissions 2015 the registrations are now open and the last date to apply was 30th April 2015. 

    Eligibility for IISc Bangalore 
    A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects. Students who have studied biology, biotechnology, IT along with PCM are also eligible. 
  • Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata (ISI) Admission 2015 
    Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata takes a national level entrance test for admissions to its B Sc Statistics (offered at Kolkata ) and B Sc Mathematics ( Offered at Bengaluru ). The registrations open in the month of Feb and in 2015 the applications will close on 3rd April. The ISI Entrance Test will be conducted on 10th may 2015. The government of India provides a stipend for successful students who have to go through an interview after clearing the entrance test. The entrance test assesses capability in Mathematics. For these two programs the Indian National Maths Olympiad awardees of any previous year are exempted from writing the entrance exam. They can apply in prescribed form for admissions. 

    Eligibility for ISI Kolkata
    A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with mathematics and english as subjects are eligible for admissions. 
  • Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvanathapuram ( Triputi opening in year 2015 ) IISER Admission 2015 
    Indian Institute of Science Education and Research IISER's are Government of India Institutions that offer 5 year integrated BS MS degree after class 12th. There are around 1000 seats in all. The registrations open in the month of June and in 2015 the applications will close on 27th June 2015. Students need not appear for entrance test if they apply though IIT JEE advanced and KVPY . Students applying through board marks have to appear for IISER aptitude test . IISER aptitude test will be conducted on 12th July 2015. The government of India provides a scholarship of Rs 5000 to all the students selected. 

    Eligibility for IISER's 
    A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with science subjects are eligible for admissions.
