CPT for Chartered Accountancy
Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is held twice every year and is open only to those students who are registered with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India on or before 2 April every year and who fulfill the eligibility criteria.
CPT was held on 22nd June in 2014.
Test pattern:
CPT is an objective type test of 200 marks of 4 subjects ie Fundamentals of Accounting, Mercantile Law, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude with an objective to test the basic knowledge in these subjects. There are two sessions of 2 hours each and there is a small break after 1 session.
A candidate is declared to have passed the test if he obtains at one sitting a minimum of thirty percent marks in each section and 50% marks in the aggregate of all sections. The marking system has negative marks for wrong answers. Candidates are allowed to opt for Hindi medium Question Paper Booklet for answering the questions.
Eligibility: 10+2 Examination of any other recognized Board/University not covered above but recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination as recognized by Central Government.
